Neighbourhood Watch

Little Weighton Neighbourhood Watch was formed in 1999 by 15 residents who volunteered as co-ordinators. We were spread throughout the village and were able to ensure all of our roads were covered. As a priority we distributed information packs throughout the village containing a range of literature covering both home and personal safety.

Having established contact with our local Police Beat Officer, we also joined H.A.N.W.A.G (Humberside Association of Neighbourhood Watch Groups). Hence we have unlimited access to the latest literature produced by the Home Office and other Government/Police organisations.

Successful fund raising enabled us to purchase 5 Neighbourhood Watch signs which are displayed throughout the village. In addition we invested in a Dremmel (a device for etching post codes onto metal objects such as bicycles).

We aim to produce a half yearly Bulletin summarising latest Police initiatives as well as some common sense reminders particularly approaching a holiday season. Individual leaflet drops take place as the need arises.
